THE TRAINING OF FOOD BUSINESS OPERATORS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE 14708/10-08-2007/GAZETTE 1616/B/17-08-2007
WHOM IT CONCERNS
The staff of enterprises produce, processing, storing, carrying, transporting food or engaged in retail trade, the supply of food, catering and pastry or production laboratories or food processing. These companies have an obligation to draw up all their staff engaged in food handling, in accordance with the procedure described in the Ministerial Decision 14708/17-08-07.
WHAT COMPANIES EXCLUDED
Food businesses that are required in full development system HACCP may or implement programs EFET or to develop programs in accordance with the system apply.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TRAINING
Responsible for the training of the staff is the person in charge of the company.
WHO STAFF ARE EXEMPTED
From the above training may be excluded only staff which has a valid qualification or certificate or proof of monitoring training program or training, from which it is clear that the employee is adequately trained in health and safety or other appropriate in the case of the food sector.
WHAT IS THE AIM
These programs are designed to ensure the quality, production of safe products and the protection of the consumer in accordance with Regulation 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE FDA
The EFET specifies the minimum content of the programmes, approve and monitor their implementation, in accordance with the provisions of, carrying out the process of assessment and issue related certificates.
WHAT PROGRAMMES PROVIDED FOR, AND WHO THE ΚΑΤΑΡΤΙΖΕΙ
The training programs are divided into three levels.
Projects-level 1
Concerning the preparation of simple operators on general issues of hygiene and food safety.
The minimum duration is 10 hours.
Minimum content of the programme : as described in the attached TRAINING PROGRAM on THE HYGIENE of FOODSTUFFS – LEVEL 1.
For the conduct of the programme can be done from the instructors use of the existing educational material, with appropriate adjustment, up to draft a new.
Programs level 2
Regarding operator training, food or foremen or supervisors, or directors of enterprises, etc (Article 5 para.4 ed. b the RA).OE 502.1
TRAINING of PERSONNEL of ENTERPRISES of FOOD-general
The minimum duration is 20 hours.
Minimum content of the programme : as described in the attached * TRAINING PROGRAM – LEVEL 2.
For the conduct of the programme can be done from the instructors use of the existing educational material, with appropriate adjustment, up to draft a new.
Programmes level 3
Concerning the training groups and sectors etc (Article 5 para.4 ed. c the RA).
No changes are permitted to the minimum agenda of the programme.
Allowed only additions and an increase in hours of training.
FROM WHO IMPLEMENTED THE PROGRAMS
Possibility of carrying out education and training programmes for the staff of the food business are:
i. the companies themselves for their staff.
ii. the professional bodies, chambers of commerce, sectoral unions.
iii. educational institutions, teachers and other Public Institutions and accredited training centres.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROGRAMMES
The number of trainees for each training program must be at least 10 and you don't have to more than 30 people. Amendment to the list of candidates and up to 10 the number will be permitted up to 25 days after the filing of the original application and in any case before the final approval of the programme accompanied by all necessary documents. The number of learners may not exceed the number of learners of the original application program. The above changes be communicated with a single application.
The number of hours of training per day may not exceed 8.
If the program takes more than one day, the number of hours per day may not be greater than 5 and less than 3.
A trainer not may exceed the number of 5 hours per day (along with the hours, refill) or 3 hours in the same group of learners (without the hours refill). This restriction shall not apply for the case of the islands.
Replenishment of the instructor can be made provided that this is notified in a timely manner with the attached declaration of acceptance from the deputy.For each section of the content of a programme is defined as a trainer with only one deputy.
Trainers, public officials will have to ensure that the intended license of a private project with a fee, which shall be submitted.
Penalties
1. Monitoring of the proper implementation of the programmes will be carried out by employees of the EFET with temporary and unannounced checks with care three-member commission.
2. If the checks carried out are identified serious infringements in the execution of the programs, then the bodies of implementation of these programmes will be excluded from the participation in new programs, with the decision of the board.P. after a recommendation of the three-member commission. Any reported violations will be printed on the sign-up sheet.
